About We Love Live Music

The Energy of the Stage

Launched in 2024 by long-time music photographer Richard Isaac, We Love Live Music is dedicated to capturing the raw energy, emotion, and communal passion of live music at its best. Through photography, reviews, and stories, we aim to bring those unforgettable gig moments to life—whether it’s the electricity of a packed venue, the hush before a final encore, or the chaos of a festival pit.

Richard’s career began shooting for The Fly and DIY Magazine, later working with Rex Features and Shutterstock Editorial, but his love for live music started long before the camera—right there in the crowd, elbows on the stage.

Moments of Magic

“My first gig as a fan? Sugar at Cardiff Uni, December ‘92—ferocious, and my first taste of crowdsurfing. A year later, Smashing Pumpkins, same venue, fresh off Siamese Dream—I was front row, dead centre, no photo pit and elbows on stage, with the Pumpkins on fire inches away. In Birmingham, where I went to university, I caught Radiohead on the Pablo Honey tour at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. My mate and I showed up early and spotted them sneaking out for a photoshoot at a nearby church. We waited, watched, and when they were done, Thom waved us over for a chat. Gents.”

That passion for live music turned into a passion for documenting it—every drop of sweat, every guitar flourish, every shared moment between artist and audience..
