Tate McRae Gears Up for Pop Domination with New Album and Massive World Tour

Tate McRae is ready to take 2025 by storm. The multi-platinum pop sensation has announced the release of her highly anticipated third album, So Close To What, set to drop on February 21 via RCA Records. Alongside the album announcement, McRae revealed her ambitious Miss Possessive Tour, a globe-spanning 50-date extravaganza that will see her performing across South America, Europe, the UK, and North America.

So Close To What promises to be McRae’s most introspective project yet, exploring the trials of growing up and navigating the blurred lines between love, self-discovery, and uncertainty. Fans can pre-order the album now, with special limited-edition merch bundles, including exclusive vinyl variants and signed posters.

Ahead of the album’s release, McRae will drop her new single and video, “2 hands,” today at 4 PM PT/7 PM ET. The track follows her chart-topping hit “It’s ok I’m ok,” which debuted as her highest entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and has racked up over 165 million global streams.

The Miss Possessive Tour kicks off on March 18 in Mexico City and will include standout shows like São Paulo’s Lollapalooza and two major dates at The O2 in London. With rising star BENEE joining the European leg and pop powerhouse Zara Larsson accompanying her across North America, the tour is set to be a highlight of next year’s live music calendar.

Tickets go on general sale Friday, November 22, at 9 AM local time via tatemcrae.com and Live Nation. Exclusive presales, including AMEX cardholder access, start November 19. VIP packages will also be available, offering fans premium seats, pre-show soundchecks, and exclusive merchandise.

McRae’s star power has been unstoppable since her 2020 breakout hit “you broke me first.” With over 11.6 billion career streams and accolades from JUNO Awards to Billboard’s 21 Under 21 list, she continues to redefine pop stardom. So Close To What and the Miss Possessive Tour mark another bold chapter for the Calgary-born sensation, cementing her place as one of her generation’s defining artists.
